DINING, ENTERTAINMENT, & SHOPPING IN HOLLY SPRINGS

The Pimiento Tea Room is an exciting place to join friends for a unique sandwich or dessert and craft beers and teas. It also sponsors special events and hosts live music on Saturdays. Sir Walter Coffee + Kitchen offers comfort foods, drinks, and renowned lattes in a conversation-sparking setting. Sir Walter also has live music on Saturdays.

A fast-growing town, Holly Springs has spawned popular craft breweries that serve as gathering spots for post-work drinks and weekend nights out. The Carolina Brewing Company is the town standard, having been open since 1995, and Bombshell Beer Company is one of the state’s first female-owned breweries.

The Vieni Ristobar is a great place to take the entire family out for an excellent, authentic Italian dinner. Thanks A Latte is a cozy location for having coffee with friends. It also has a boutique section filled with unique gifts for family and friends or a special treat for yourself.

THINGS TO DO IN HOLLY SPRINGS

Holly Springs is a smaller town with a lively arts center. The Holly Springs Cultural Center hosts year-round dance, music, comedic, and theater events. They also sponsor the Holly Springs Farmers Market nearly every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Each fall, the HollyFest aggregates local artists, small businesses, and food vendors in a free event open to the public. Children’s activities, live entertainment, and (usually) crisp fall weather make HollyFest a town favorite tradition. The Longleaf Festival is a more precisely targeted event featuring North Carolina’s up-and-coming independent films and filmmakers.

Holly Springs is also home to the world’s largest family-oriented skate park. The Daniel Dhers Action Sports Complex includes 37,000 square feet of facilities for skateboarding, BMX, and mountain biking. Because the complex has indoor and outdoor terrain, you can get a ride in (and take classes) any time of year.

The Wake Futbol Club has both child and college-level soccer events. Also nearby is Ting Park, with facilities for athletic activities, including soccer, football, tennis, and basketball. The park offers marked trails for those who want to enjoy the outdoors while working on their fitness goals. It is also home to the Holly Springs Salamanders, a minor-league baseball team.

No description of Holly Springs would be complete without reference to the area’s beautiful parks and green spaces. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park combines a gorgeous lake with over 100 acres of woods and pastures, an archery field, a dog park, and connections to the Holly Springs Greenway. Meanwhile, families frequent the whimsically-named Womble Park on Grigsby Ave., which has facilities for several sports, plus a picnic shelter and outdoor stage.
